WOMFT? Review – Diadora x Packer Shoes x Raekwon “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx”

Finally! The one Diadora lovers were waiting for!

After the first release of the “Purple Tape”, in 2015, celebrating Packer’s 20th anniversary with an enormous collaboration with Raekwon. Without a doubt, they were an instant soldout. becoming harder to obtain until now. During the release event of the “Purple Tape”, there was a picture of Raekwon wearing a pair of Diadora N9000, in the colour scheme of “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” album cover. The hype around that pair amongst the Diadora community was immense and people were eager for the drop, but we’ve heard nothing ever since.

5 years passes by, on the 22nd December 2020, an instagram post from Packer, Raekwon and Diadora announced the release of the “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” was on the 23rd December 2020. WHICH WAS THE NEXT DAY! The community once again ignited with joy and celebration, after 5 years of waiting. This time celebrating the 25th anniversary of the “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” album debut. To celebrate the timeless album, the Diadora N9000 “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” was finally released. The release was done absolutely to perfection, protecting bots from purchasing by having to answer a famous question, “let’s connect, politic, ……” (if you don’t know, google it up 🙂 ). Even with the high bot security, the shoes were again, an instant soldout.

Let’s talk about the “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” itself.

Without a doubt, when you receive a pair of Diadora, the first thing you see is quality and craftsmanship. You can expect the best materials used and with “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx”, there is no other word other than “wow”. The overall shoe consists of suede, mesh and soft leather with a hint of pony hair and ostrich leather. The colours reflect the “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” cover jacket with bold black, red and yellow. With a hint of “1995” purple stitching on the heel tab. There were some minor changes to the “original Only Built 4 Cuban Linx ” which was the additional pony hair and ostrich leather. What a classy move. Usually, shoes come with a box. This doesnt. The “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” came in a purple ziplock bag with “side 1” on one side, and “Side 2“on another, to mimic the “Purple Tape” itself. The bag itself is a great idea but very fragile so be careful 🙂 Retail price was at $250USD. A definite must-have for the Diadora and Raekwon fans.
